Let’s reject the false choice between the 2nd Amendment and reasonable gun safety laws.

We should do both.

  1. Notice how she fails to define both “gun violence” and “children.” Seek out your own definitions to better understand her comments. Ask yourself this: Is a 17 year old high-school drop out a child?

    • Not after he pulls the trigger. Then he’ll be charged and tried as an adult.

    • Probably can’t define what a woman is, either.
Those lips of hers are good for only one thing. Ask Willie Brown what that is.😮

    • “Is a 17 year old high-school drop out a child?”

No, that’s a “yoot”, who is one year shy of being a full-fledged “usual suspect”.

      • At least up to 19 and totally ignoring various auto accident related deaths in it’s entirety. Would also like to see the breakdown of gang related vs not gang related homicide for victims with and without gang affiliation. I know it is hilariously overrepresented gang related for both victim and shooter here in NY but the national numbers would be interesting.

    • They include 15-21-year-old gang bangers as kids who love to kill each other for a bigger slice of the drug pie.

  2. More leftist nonsense. They confuse simple minded people by using feelings as substitute for facts. Children under 12 it’s car accidents, suffocation and drowning, if you include 13-18 year old the stats change to congenital defects or abnormalities.

    • “if you include 13-18 year old the stats change to congenital defects or abnormalities”

So you’re saying birth defects are the leading cause of death for “13–18 year old”?

Fascinating, I would certainly enjoy learning more from the source you rely upon for your assertion.

        • “sweeties“

Weird, I get more passes by guys on this forum than anywhere else.
I think there is a more appropriate venue for y’all, I think it’s called ‘Grindr’.

        • I love how the forum Progressive insults people by insinuating they’re gay. I’ve noticed that’s a recurring theme by Miner. He’s done the same to me before.

        • I mean, I’m not surprised that you’re not finding a lot of luck in the dating world. I AM surprised that you think anyone here wants you though….

        • MINOR Miner49er, No one in their right mind would give you a “pass”. You are a fake.

      • MINOR Miner49er, Clearly you do NOT read at high school level. Did you really read what the man wrote? Or are you twisting the words to fit your anti-gun radical agenda? He did NOT say that congenital defects were a leading cause of deaths for any age. He used the words IF and INCLUDE.

      • @Miner49er: source CDC, do your own research. And yeah, kids with CF, MS, MD CCA, most likely die before adult. How many adults do you know with Cystic Fibrosis?

        • Will have to dig through that I thought that was just under 1 year with unintentional injury (largely traffic accidents) being the leading cause category up to the 45+ age groups. Then again how the data is grouped can change a lot of what shows up.

  3. Repeat that lie often enough it will morph into fact.
Emotional reasoning, confirmation bias and the availability heuristic being manipulated by the cult of personality. Don’t look into anything yourselves, they’ll tell us what we believe, praise us for agreeing and ostracize those who don’t thereby tribalizing the believers.

  4. I would say something about limiting her free speech, but I have heard her speak and y’all would think I was for gun control.

    • “I dont know exactly what is racist”

Just ask your local Republican officials, they are very familiar with racism:

“Okla. Sheriff and County Officials Caught on Recording Discussing Lynching Black People and Killing Journalists

The Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association announced that Sheriff Kevin Clardy, Sheriff’s Investigator Alicia Manning and Trust Administrator Larry Hendrix have been suspended from the association

By Corin Cesaric Published on April 19, 2023 03:34 PM

“They don’t have a G– d— clue what they’re getting into,” Jennings says. “Not this day and age. I’m gonna tell you something. If it was back in the day, when Alan Marston would take a damn Black guy and whoop their ass and throw him in the cell? I’d run for f—–g sheriff.”

“Yeah. Well, It’s not like that nomore,” Clardy responds.

(Marston was the McCurtain County Sheriff in the 1980s, according to The Oklahoman.)

“I know,” Jennings says. “Take them down to Mud Creek and hang them up with a damn rope. But you can’t do that anymore. They got more rights than we got.”

      https://people.com/crime/oklahoma-sheriff-county-officials-caught-recording-lynching-black-people-killing-journalists/

And continuing Donald Trump’s statement that a free press is the “enemy of the people”, these Republican officials were also planning to kill journalists investigating their corruption.

      • Do you have to take a moron pill every morning in order to sustain your level of idiot? OR is just cashing a Soros troll check sufficient?

      • minor49iq…Why are you complaining? Everything they spewed came from your party the democRat Party. The party that owns the legacy of slavery, segregation, Jim Crow, lynching, the kkk, Eugenics, Gun Control and other race based atrocities.
Looking at the whole picture what you present equates to a gnat fart in a football stadium.
Cease with lame attempts to rewrite history…Man up and hold your Rat party liable for Monetary Reparations.

        • “Everything they spewed came from your party the democRat Party. The party that owns the legacy of slavery”

I understand that you folks have difficulty understanding that as the years go by things change and political parties values and core beliefs morph over time.

You might want to learn more about Richard Nixon and the Republican’s ‘Southern Strategy’ of the ‘60s, a careful study of the historical text might prove enlightning.

And the fact is, these racists are Republicans, no attempt at appealing to past labels will change the fact that current elected Republican officials discussed hiring hitmen to kill journalists who were exposing their corruption and lamented the fact that they could no longer Lynch Negroes with impunity.

That is the very definition of ‘systemic racism’.

Perhaps if you folks had some of those ‘critical race theory’ classes in college, you would learn a little bit about how racist officials in the system abuse minority citizens without any consequence.

        • LOL no they didn’t miner gun grabbing jim crow vs gun grabbing democrats with rino lackeys. Any morphing of the party structure is cosmetic. Now constituents changed a bit but hey who would have thought democrats would support elite big business that relied on slave labor over domestic citizen workers………..oh wait.

        • “Perhaps if you folks had some of those ‘critical race theory’ classes…”

I didn’t see any evidence of abusing “minority citizens without any consequence.” I saw a recorded conversation that sounded racist, but it wouldn’t be “systemic” racism by definition since the entire commission wasn’t behind it. That was one commissioner talking who got busted by another commissioner. Also, no abuse took place, and it looks like they’re already facing consequences.

Systemic and institutional racism gets thrown around way too much because they’re political talking points for the Left. Like most propaganda, there is a sliver of truth to it. It’s funny how people don’t see the irony of the institutional racism talking point when Democrats control most of our institutions (and have done so for decades).

      • Unlike democrats protecting their own I’m pretty sure most here think that those racist idiots should be held accountable and fired from their positions in law enforcement.

    • “support of repealing the 19th“

Why do so many Republicans stand on the street corners preaching their support of the Constitution, when they actually detest the Constitution and wish it did not get in the way of their authoritarian rule.

  5. Wrong the number one killer of children in the United States of America is Democrats through abortion.

    • The irony is the fools have murdered millions of their core constituency. Nieve/idiot blacks have been the core misguided voters of the demtard party since LBJ purchased them in the 1960s.

  6. My Vega was the fastest vehicle in the High School Parking Lot*

    * if you include bicycles and dis-qualify anything over 4 cylinders and with a working transmission.

    • That’s pretty good, unicorn, pretty good indeed. Definitely shines light on the stuff we are hearing from gun control folks.

    • Had a 71 Vega fastback, 500HP big block, four speed, narrowed 9 inch Ford rear end w/4:33 gears, ran low 10s high 9s @ high 120s/low 130s mph 1/4 mile… Pure terror on the streets of Southern CA in the late 70s… It was pretty much THE fastest vehicle in ANY parking lot…

      • One of my high school buddies who lived on my street had a Vega. Not fully souped up like yours was, but cool enough for me to remember it all these decades later.

Yup, SoCal back in the day (’80s for me) was a great place to be.

        • I had a 66 Mustang with a 302. Loved being able to get green gas at the Shell station in Canoga Park. Racing fuel at a loca gas station for 85 cents a gallon. Pricy stuff! 😁 Fun Times. Wednesday night’s in Van Nuys cruising the blvd and street racing blocks away. Everyone got along with surfers an low rider’s all showing off their cars and bikes.

        • Used to do S. LA twice a week took on Big Willie a couple of times when he ran the 65 GTO with the big block Chevy, Left in 82, stuff was just starting to get stupid around then, cops were cranking hard on street racing, fun times were coming to an end… Gulf “race gas” and Sunoco “260” for go juice, Av Gas 115/145 for race nites…

        • Yeah MADDMAXX I was talking about the same time period. 1977 to 1982. Cops started being jerks and the cruise was on it’s way to being shut down. I still am fond of the days Mexicans and surfers enjoyed each other’s pride and joy being on display. Buddy of mine used to have a Suzuki GS1100. He would give anyone an eighth of a mile head start in a quarter mile race. Those days were so much fun! He was about 50/50 in all the races I saw.

        • 😜Meanwhile, back at the ranch…

My younger brother had a souped up Omni Shelby. He would stop at the local station to get half a tank of Turbo Blue (something like that) at ~$3 per gallon, then meet his buddies at the local strip to burn it up. I swear he used some of that stuff in the 3-wheeler races at the county fair, but he denies it. This was midwestern farm country. We did the best we could to keep up.

        • I learned to drive on my parents’ Mustang with performance 302 block and a (get this) 4-speed manual transmission. Monster power and tall gears made it easy for me as a teenager (borrowing Mom Haz’s Mustang for a, uh, trip to the store and definitely not to a friend’s house along the way) to race Corvettes and Panteras off the stoplight.

Again, SoCal suburbia in the ’80s was great. Makes today’s Democrat takeover and transformation into Crapafornia all the more sad.

        • Got my “education” on farm equipment, first (around age 10/11) on an old Ford tractor then at 14 got my shot in a 48 Studebaker pick up with a three-speed column shift… Took my road test (including parallel parking) in 61 Ford Galaxy “Starliner”… Drove a 55 Chevy w/265 power pac to school first “muscle car” was a 65 tri-power 4-speed GTO…

        • “Got my “education” on farm equipment,…”

Got mine from the lady 3 doors down who’s hubby spent a lot of time on the west coast for work… 🙂

        • That “education” came from the proverbial “Farmers Daughter” lived down the road, two years older, I was 15… We had been “practicing” for a couple of years prior and helped with the cows during breeding season before that… (1600 pound steer around a female in heat was a bitch to control)…

    • My sister had a Vega, I feared for my life every time I rode in that bucket. Another had a Nova, another failed attempt at an economy car. Now people refer to that as a “classic car” Pulleeze.

      • Nobody cared about economy cars in the 60s early 70s… 68 Nova w/375 hp (under rated) 396 was bad ass…

All shot by scared or angry guys “defending” their car or property. Because the guy with the gun gets to determine when their emotions say it’s time to shoot.

    That’s the truth

    That’s the truth

    • Hilarious how a gal who put a multitude of black men in prison for pot believes “she” has moral authority! Any of you long term TTAG vets remember Robert Farago wax poetic about Kamaltoe being “the best looking attorney general in America”??? 🙄🙃😀

      • “a gal who put a multitude of black men in prison for pot“

So let me get this straight, you’re complaining because as a prosecutor she did her duty and followed the law, prosecuting offenders?

And you would rather have had her ignore the law as it was written and passed?

Still beating that “law and order” horse are you?

        • She’s a soulless hypocrite who stands for nothing other than moving up the ladder. She bragged about being the law and order AG when she thought that was popular. The moment the mood changed, she was very pro-criminal.

        • The same “prosecutor” who admitted on a national radio show that SHE broke the law by smoking pot in college?

And you would rather have had her ignore the law as it was written and passed?

Why not? Soros funded “prosecutors” across the country are ignoring violent crimes daily and I don’t see YOU complaining about that…

        • “So let me get this straight, you’re complaining because as a prosecutor she did her duty and followed the law, prosecuting offenders?”

Considering the bitch admitted to smoking weed around the same time period yes all while listening to a rapper that hadn’t hadn’t yet appeared on the scene. She’s a fucking liar you know it we know it.

        • “So let me get this straight…”

We’re waiting for this, but no ‘bated breath on our side…

    • All shot by scared or angry guys “defending” their car or property

And a jury will make the final decision on their stupidity…

      • “And a jury will make the final decision on their stupidity… “

And indeed a jury did make the final decision, and Sergeant Perry is going to prison in Texas.

        • For the crime of removing a fascist storm trooper from the ranks of the fascist left.

We see what side you are on, miner.

        • That isn’t over til it’s over, he was found guilty by the very same people he was defending himself from in Austin Tx (aka: LA East)… Pretty much like Trump trying to get a fair jury in Manhattan..

    • The truth is that crime happens. Punishing me by curtailing my civil rights because of what another individual did that I had no part in is the very definition of fascism.

    • There will be more mistakes as clueless gun owners, convinced they need big bore fire power by violent marketing from the firearms industry, will shoot first ask questions later.

And now the gun nut incels are just shooting the pretty girls out of hand.

In my world, if an attractive cheerleader sits down in my passenger seat, we’ll be having dinner later that evening.

      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=__tDRRJGDbg

      • @Miner49er

“In my world, if an attractive cheerleader sits down in my passenger seat, we’ll be having dinner later that evening.”

        🤣

If an attractive cheerleader sits down in your passenger seat they will be about 10 years old.

Just because the charges got reduced last time doesn’t mean you will be as lucky next time.

      • “convinced they need big bore fire power by violent marketing from the firearms industry,”

I used to think that you at least weren’t dacian. Now I think you ghost write for each other.

      • MajorLiar,

“In my world, if an attractive cheerleader sits down in my passenger seat, we’ll be having dinner later that evening.”

In your effing dreams, toad-face. You haven’t known the touch of a woman in your life. You talking about “incels” is comedy gold, you trashbag. Don’t own a mirror, do you???

Yes, some people sometimes do stupid things with firearms . . . and with cars, and with many other things. What you don’t seem to grasp is that the rational people in the world would rather deal with that (very remote) risk than have drooling morons like you, dacian the demented, Senile Joe, Kamal-Toe the Kneepad Queen, Malig-Nancy, or Eric Swallowswell telling us what/how/when we are allowed to be armed or defend ourselves.

Haven’t managed to suck-start that shotgun, yet, have you MajorLiar????

    • And they should be dealt with for their actions. Now tell me what that has to do with me and my weapons. Not a fucking thing so piss off!

    • Great! We get to take away your 1st Amendment rights because commie antifa say they want to destroy the country.

      See how that works??

    • And the hits just keep coming!

“A North Carolina man allegedly shot a 6-year-old girl, her parents and an additional neighbor after a basketball rolled into his yard.

Local and federal law are still searching for the suspect, who was also charged with assaulting his girlfriend with a sledgehammer in December.“

      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qwzW486AUhw

      • And? If anything it says more about letting violent people out of jail early being a bad idea.

        • For sure, SAFE.

“Singletary is wanted on four counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflicting serious injury.”

Now let’s find out how a convicted felon procured a firearm. I’ve heard that it’s against the law.

        • I think you have to much faith in jail and rehabilitation.
A truly violent person will always be violent no matter how many years they have spent behind bars.

        • LOL rehabilitation? LOL early release? Smooth you must have me confused with someone who thinks leopards change their spots. There is a small minority of offenders that can turn things around and if they don’t fuck up bad enough to justify 20-life or execution good for them. Otherwise fuck them if they are murdering, raping, arsoning or otherwise severely impacting the lives of innocent victims. Ultimately if they cannot be put down keeping them locked up until they either age out (35-45 for most) or geriatric out (so old they are a threat to the most unaware) is about the best that we can do.

        • Smooth Criminal, I have NO faith in prison to rehabilitate anyone. If you want to rehabilitate, you have to do it yourself. Prison offers the programs, the convict has to do the work.

      • Then there’s the guy in Maine: A 34-year-old man shot and killed his parents and their two friends at a home in Bowdoin, Maine days after his release from the Windham Correctional Facility in Maine on April 14 after serving a sentence for aggravated assault… He went on to randomly shoot three others as they drove south on Interstate 295 in Yarmouth… Wonder how many “gun-laws” this clown ignored to ILLEGALLY acquire a firearm and then proceed to ignore several more state and federal laws in commission of those MURDERS and ASSAULTS with a deadly weapon, I’ll bet he was really concerned as he ILLEGALLY acquired that gun and as he ILLEGALLY “MURDERED” four people with it and then as he ILLEGALLY discharged that firearm into cars moving at highway speeds on the Interstate that he might get in trouble, but he DID it anyway… I know, let’s make MORE fucking laws then we can add more charges when some asshole ignores THEM…

      • MINOR Miner49er. What’s your point? Seems you Lefties refuse to do anything about the criminals or the mentally ill. You Lefties want no bail for accused criminals and refuse to admit that the HIPPA law stands in the way of preventing a mentally ill person from being able to buy a gun.
Sir, (term used advisedly) with all due respect, you and your kind are the MAJOR part of the problem.
What you really want is control over the population with your draconian laws to prevent people from being able to defend themselves from your criminal buddies oppression.

    • In a population of 350 million there are always going to be a few idiots. With such a large population events that have a low statistical probability of happening may happen with alarming frequency.

You can’t legislate against stupidity or evil. Odds are it’s the former more than the latter.

      • Southern,

“In a population of 350 million there are always going to be a few idiots.”

True – why, right here in our little community on TTAG, we get to deal with MajorLiar and dacian the demented on a regular basis.

  8. Deep thoughts with Que Mala

I don’t think that we should underestimate what voter ID laws could mean. Because in some people’s mind, that means you’re going to have to Xerox or photocopy your ID to send it in to prove who you are. Well, there are a whole lot of people, especially people who live in rural communities, who don’t – there’s no Kinkos, there’s no OfficeMax near them.

We should make a picture book for Que Mala, and explain real slow like how the modern world works. It’s crazy that was the only thing holding her back from supporting voter ID. She wouldn’t be disingenuous, would she?

Next up: picture books about gunz and violence. Then we can do systemic racism.

    • “Number one after abortions… “

You consider an unborn fetus as “children”?

So you oppose the free exercise of religion by observant Jews?

      How very… conservative of you.

“Does Jewish law state that life begins at conception? No, life does not begin at conception under Jewish law. Sources in the Talmud note that the fetus is “mere water” before 40 days of gestation. Following this period, the fetus is considered a physical part of the pregnant individual’s body, not yet having life of its own or independent rights. The fetus is not viewed as separate from the parent’s body until birth begins and the first breath of oxygen into the lungs allows the soul to enter the body.
 Does Jewish law assert that it is possible to murder a fetus? No, Jewish law does not consider a fetus to be alive. The Torah, Exodus 21:22-23, recounts a story of two men who are fighting and injure a pregnant woman, resulting in her subsequent miscarriage. The verse explains that if the only harm done is the miscarriage, then the perpetrator must pay a fine. However, if the pregnant person is gravely injured, the penalty shall be a life for a life as in other homicides. The common rabbinical interpretation of this verse is that the men did not commit murder and that the fetus is not a person. The primary concern is the well-being of the person who was injured.“

      https://www.ncjw.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Judaism-and-Abortion-FINAL.pdf

      • Wait you actually care about what religious jews have to say? Since when did you value religion or is this just more pilpul from you?

        • Unlike you, I support the Constitution’s guarantee of no government interference with folks’ religious beliefs.

“I have the right to disagree with you…”

Yes you do, Ain’t America grand!

“Do YOU oppose my right to the free exercise of whatever religion I choose?“

Nope, place your faith in whatever delusion comforts you.

Unless those beliefs infringe upon another person’s liberties, that’s why we have the judicial system in order to decide the conflicts.

        • So ……….religious beliefs allowing murder/rape/genocide are good to go? Yeah I think you are pushing a rope with this argument guy. I get you are trying to argue nuance and unlike dacian you do have the beginning of a point but ultimately it will be a state’s right issue as abortion is not covered in the bill of rights and typically illegal activities are tricky calls under religious freedom. And it looks like another poster has a deeper knowledge base on this than either of us so we shall see how you go with this one.

        • “Unlike you, I support the Constitution’s guarantee of no government interference with folks’ religious beliefs.”
But not all of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights correct? Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Does a fetus have no life? Is a Human fetus not going to bring forth a human child? Play all the word games you like. Fetus, clump of cells in the end a human fetus is a human child that has a right to live.

        • “So ……….religious beliefs allowing murder/rape/genocide are good to go?“

Perhaps you should have read the entirety of my post, then you would’ve seen this paragraph:

“Unless those beliefs infringe upon another person’s liberties, that’s why we have the judicial system in order to decide the conflicts.“

The fact is, almost every religion on earth has commanded the killing of innocent people, from the Canaanites, Midianites, etc. to the Jews, gypsies etc.

If we followed our friend Debbie’s belief, the Democrats own the legacy of slavery because 150 years ago the slavers were Democrats, then the Christians here today own every death from the Inquisition, the crusades, etc.

“The sins of the father shall be visited upon the sons, even to the seventh generation”

That’s why the founding fathers made sure there was no religion in the constitution, and formally declared under the treaty of Tripoli that the United States is not and never has been a nation formed on Christian principles.

        • “But not all of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights correct? Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness“

Hey Mr. constitutional scholar, neither the Constitution or the Bill of Rights contains the phrase “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness“.

Comrade, your handler needs to school you on the American system of government in order to not compromise your cover.

“a human fetus is a human child“

No, a fetus is a fetus and a child is a child. And you claimed federal law made a fetus a person, and I schooled you on that one showing you the exact federal law declaring that a fetus is not a person until they are actually born.

I understand your feelings, but feelings aren’t law.

        • Started with nuance ended with nunce. Worth a try still don’t have the articulate miner back.

        • Please you idiot, The Declaration of Independence is an extremely important document along with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

      • So now you’re a big fan of the Jewish faith? How does that affect my “non-Jewish” beliefs? You can believe anything you want to believe but this is NOT N Korea, China or Russia which means I have the right to disagree with you… Do YOU oppose my right to the free exercise of whatever religion I choose? How very “leftist” of YOU…

In Judaism, views on abortion draw primarily upon the legal and ethical teachings of the Hebrew Bible, the Talmud, the case-by-case decisions of responsa, and other rabbinic literature. While all major Jewish religious movements allow or encourage abortion in order to save the life of a pregnant woman, authorities differ on when and whether it is permitted in other cases.

      • minor49iq…Since you care so much about Jews how can you wallow around in Gun Control, an agenda History Confirms is rooted in racism and genocide?

I hate to rain on your long parade of demoCrap but History Confirms a Black American belonging to the democRat Party makes as much sense as a Jew belonging to the nazi party. In other words…You bozo, Have No Podium.

      • Classic straw man, and basic, ignorant arguments…

“So you oppose the free exercise of religion by observant Jews?”

Aborting a baby is NOT the exercise of the Jewish religion. You haven’t listing anything showing otherwise. You either don’t comprehend your own copy and paste, or you’re hoping no one will notice your lies. Which is it?

I find it hilarious whenever a professed atheist uses religious texts to try and defend their positions. By your own account, those texts are completely meaningless. That means you’re extremely desperate. Either way, it isn’t really relevant because we don’t live under a theocracy.

The Talmud was written 1500 years ago. That was their scientific understanding of the fetus. Are you saying we should “follow the science” from 1500 years ago? OR are you saying that we should outlaw all abortions after 40 days? Those are serious questions, btw.

        RE: Exodus 21:22-23
“The common rabbinical interpretation is that…the fetus is not a person.”

That is NOT the common interpretation of that verse. If there is no life, then there is no value. The fact that there’s a punishment means there is value, which means there is life. This particular verse also mentions the woman giving birth prematurely. It isn’t as cut and dry as you make it out to be. It’s a silly pro-abortion tactic pushed by atheists like you. This verse isn’t even about murder. It’s about a pregnant woman being struck while “men are fighting.” The Scripture clearly differentiates between assault, murder, and manslaughter. Special areas were even setup for people to live in safety so the victim’s family wouldn’t avenge their death (in a manslaughter case). You didn’t get the death penalty if you didn’t intend to kill someone. The punishment had to fit the crime. That’s called justice.

        • “Aborting a baby is NOT the exercise of the Jewish religion“

I showed where the Jewish religion does not consider abortion a murder, and believes that the mother has the ultimate right of decision over the fetus until it is actually born.

To force a Jewish person to carry a fetus to full-term without their permission would be involuntary servitude, under the tenants of their religion they may do whatever they like with the fetus until it is born.

And the Lord God himself advocates abortion in cases of adultery, you don’t know your Bible if you’re not familiar with the concept of “bitter waters”.

“uses religious texts to try and defend their positions“

I’m just pointing out that your religious belief about when a fetus becomes a person conflicts with the Jewish religion’s concept of when a fetus becomes a person, and you are trying to inflict your religious views upon the entire population of the United States by advocating an abortion ban.

It is unconstitutional for Congress to pass a law that forces observant Jews to ignore the Talmud and follow the evangelical view of the conception of life.

That’s not surprising, it’s just more conservative big government, attempting to insert government into citizens private lives in order to force particular religious views upon the population.

        • False. You only said the Tamud states a fetus is water for the first 40 days. Where does the Jewish religious text say “the mother has the ultimate right of decision over the fetus until it is actually born?” Now you’re just making things up.

“I’m just pointing out that your religious belief about when a fetus becomes a person conflicts with the Jewish religion’s concept of when a fetus becomes a person…”

Breaking news. I’m not Jewish. Even if I was, all you showed was some 1500 year-old Jewish text that says a fetus is water for the first 40 days. Are you advocating for no abortion after 40 days, Miner? Do you believe a fetus is water for the first 40 days, Miner? You don’t even believe that yourself, do you? Don’t you ever get tired of being a disingenuous person?

“It is unconstitutional for Congress to pass a law that forces observant Jews to ignore the Talmud”

LOL! Is that the best you could come up with? Does the Talmud say you should abort your child? Please show me where it says that. This should be good.

“…big government attempting…to force particular religious views upon the population.”

What is the number one directive of any government, Miner? It’s to protect the citizens. There isn’t a more vulnerable person in the world than an unborn baby. Is being against murder forcing my religious views on you? Do you really believe that?

        • Miner,
We both know you don’t care for religion. We both know you aren’t out there trying to be some pro-Orthodox Judaism champion. Let’s drop the pretenses and keep it real. Being for or against abortion doesn’t have to be related to religion.

I think you want vulnerable people to be protected. I truly believe you want what’s best for both mothers and their children. There’s a lot of misinformation out there about abortion due to the political nature of the topic. Whatever your political or religious orientations, can we agree that it’s best to be fully informed about all topics?

Please check the below link with an open, curious mind to see what some other Progressives think about abortion. It’s a lie that only Republicans and the religious oppose abortion.

        • “Where does the Jewish religious text say “the mother has the ultimate right of decision over the fetus until it is actually born?”

Perhaps you missed this text I quoted in one of my posts above:

“Sources in the Talmud note that the fetus is “mere water” before 40 days of gestation. Following this period, the fetus is considered a physical part of the pregnant individual’s body, not yet having life of its own or independent rights“

You also might want to consider these passages from the Talmud:

“What is the reason for Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi’s position [in the above conversation]? He holds that a fetus is considered as its mother’s thigh.”
          Talmud Gittin 23b

“If a woman is having trouble giving birth, they cut up the child in her womb and brings it forth limb by limb, because her life comes before the life of [the baby]. But if the greater part has come out, one may not touch it, for one may not set aside one person’s life for that of another.”
          Mishnah Oholot 7:6

“As the entire time that that it has not gone out into the air of the world, it is not [considered] a life, and [so] it is possible to kill it and to save its mother. But when its head came out, we cannot touch it to kill it, as it is like a born [baby]; and we do not push off one life for the sake of another.”
Rashi (Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki, 11th c.) on the previous Mishnah

“God formed the human from the dust of the earth. God blew into the human’s nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7)

“This, indeed, is one of the negative mitzvot – not to take pity on the life of a rodef (murderous pursuer). On this basis, our Sages ruled that when complications arise and a pregnant woman cannot give birth, it is permitted to abort the fetus in her womb, whether with a knife or with drugs. For the fetus is considered a rodef of its mother.”
Maimonides (12th c.) Mishneh Torah, Murderer and the Preservation of Life 1:9

“Mental-health risk has been definitely equated with physical-health risk. This woman, in danger of losing her mental health unless the pregnancy is interrupted, would therefore accordingly qualify.”
          Rabbi Mordechai Winkler (1845-1932)

“It is clear that abortion is not permitted without reason. That would be destructive and frustrative of the possibility of life. But for a reason, even if it is a slim reason, such as to prevent disgrace, then we have precedent and authority to permit it.”
Rabbi Ben Zion Chai Uziel, (1880-1953)

          https://www.ncjw.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/What-Judaism-Really-Teaches-About-Abortion-.pdf

Under Jewish law, an abortion to “preserve mental health” or avoid “disgrace” is permitted.

        • “Perhaps you missed this text I quoted in one of my posts above”

Miner, that isn’t a direct quote from the Talmud. You’re quoting someone’s personal analysis/opinion. Show me the direct quote from the Talmud that says, “the mother has the ultimate right of decision over the fetus until it is actually born.” Give me the exact quote and where to find it. Even the other opinions you just posted said that abortion isn’t permitted without reason.

Let’s say Orthodox Jews were permitted to abort babies at any time without reason. Aborting the baby still wouldn’t be a Jewish religious custom or practice, therefore banning abortion wouldn’t conflict with Jews practicing their religion. Something being permitted is not the same as something being required.

Some jurisdictions will allow you to carry a gun. Sometimes you are only permitted to carry under certain circumstances. That does not mean that you have to carry. No one is forcing you to carry. No one is forcing Jews to disobey their religion.

        • @Miner49er

“I showed where the Jewish religion does not consider abortion a murder, and believes that the mother has the ultimate right of decision over the fetus until it is actually born.”

No, you didn’t show that and no the Jewish religion doesn’t believe the mother has the ultimate right of decision over the fetus until it is actually born.

Ignoring your very broad and incorrect assertion of “Jewish religion” and your lack of including context and failing to understand the nuances and you including your own confirmation bias … for a moment just ignoring that…

The “Jewish religion” (‘Jewish Law’) approach to abortion is:

          1. Under normal circumstances it is forbidden to take the life of an unborn child, and it may be akin to and possibly be considered murder (depending on the stage of pregnancy and birth – see note below).

          2. As long as the unborn remains a fetus, it does not have a status of personhood equal to its mother, and therefore may be sacrificed to save the life of the mother.

          3. In any case where abortion may be necessary, it is of paramount importance to consult halachic and medical experts as soon as possible.

(Note for #1: After 6 months of pregnancy, when the fetus may be viable, abortion is considered “possible murder” and it is permitted to abort only when the mother’s life is endangered, as the fetus is classified as a rodef. Between 40 days and 6 months of pregnancy, the fetus is considered a “developing life” thus abortion may be considered ‘possible murder’. Before 40 days it is considered “potential life”. Aborting during these last two time periods abortion may be permitted under certain circumstances that override “developing life” and “potential life” and an expert Rabbi needs to be consulted to make the determination and if not permitted after that consultation its considered “murder” if an abortion takes place.)

Now on the other hand, if you are speaking of the left-wing liberalism that has invaded the “Jewish religion” and chosen to ignore the Talmud teachings (‘Jewish Law’) in favor of their own self serving ‘definition’ then apparently those types are free to have abortions at will as a method of ‘birth control’ cause ‘I Feelz I have a right cause its me’ reasons.

        • Thanks for that explanation. I’m not that familiar with Judaism except where it overlaps with parts of the Old Testament. I knew they weren’t “pro-choice.” The above argument seems to be nothing more than an excuse for abortion because apparently the other excuses have now been exhausted.

      • “You consider an unborn fetus as “children”?”

Yeah. 5000 year old “knowledge” of biology notwithstanding.

I take it you eat grasshoppers but avoid pork? Lol, not likely!

Your inner commie probably. waxes nostalgic over the ancient, bloodthirsty and currently 100% unenforced, even laughable Jewish laws regarding menstruation and working on Sabbath, tho…

Have any free-abortion-on-demand “rationalists” taken note of the post-“revolution” demographic trends in Russia/China?

Or do they ALL believe that the extinction of H sapiens is essential to “save the planet”?

        • “even laughable Jewish laws regarding menstruation and working on Sabbath“

There you are TTAG, a poster ridiculing the Judaic religion.

I think most of those writings are the ancient record of a savage and violent tribe’s magical taboos, some may have had a faint basis in reality while others are total fabrications.

But for one religionist to ridicule other religions, is hilarious.

        • “Atheism is ultimately a religion“

          Nope.

Atheism is merely the position of disbelief of the claims of God(s).

It is not a worldview, it is not a religion, there is no dogma or doctrine and no priest, preacher, bishop, cardinal or pope.

Some people claim that a divine being exists, here in United States it’s mostly the Abrahamic God, Allah/Jehovah.

I’ve seen no compelling evidence to support the claim, therefore I’ve taken the position of disbelief in the god claim.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, so far lacking.

          “atheist
          noun
          athe·ist ˈā-thē-ist
          Synonyms of atheist
: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods : one who subscribes to or advocates atheism“

          https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/atheist

        • “That is NOT the common interpretation of that verse.”

Miner is incapable of rightly dividing the word of truth, as he demonstrates every time he crawls up onto his religion soapbox. Pffft, any soapbox, for that matter. Perhaps some day he will learn to look along instead of at, and then will learn from the different perspective.

        • Assuming the word “God” is used to mean supreme and all- powerful Being: Atheism is a faith-based reality model same as voodoo or Catholicism.

Any declarative statement affirming or denying the reality of God is faith-based.

The God Concept is not amenable to logical analysis, and the “evidence” cannot be tested.

The question, “Does God exist?” does not have a binary answer…

A God could, for example, rotate in and out of existence a trillion times a second.

“There is no God” is as faith-based as it’s complement.

        • “rightly dividing the word of truth“

I’m not sure what you mean by “dividing the Word of truth”.

If you meant to post ‘divining’ the word of truth, then no, I do not have the ability to divine the word of truth.

The process of divination is bullshit magical thinking, and you won’t find truth from magical thinking:

          “di·vine2
          /dəˈvīn/
          verb
          gerund or present participle: divining
discover (something) by guesswork or intuition.

have supernatural or magical insight into (future events).
“frauds who claimed to divine the future in chickens’ entrails”

        • “There is no God” is as faith-based as it’s complement“

You clearly do not understand atheism. Atheism is the position of disbelief of the God claims, mostly because no one has presented credible evidence of the existence of any God(s).

Just as I don’t believe in the existence of Bigfoot, because no credible evidence has been presented, just so I don’t believe in your claims of the existence of God.

          “atheist
          noun
          athe·ist ˈā-thē-ist
          Synonyms of atheist
: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods : one who subscribes to or advocates atheism“

You are the one claiming a God exists, therefore the burden of proof is upon you.

        • “You are the one claiming a God exists, therefore the burden of proof is upon you.”

          Factually incorrect.
I have made no such claim, and consider your false accusation to be defamatory.

Further: atheists claim there ain’t, others claim there is. The burden could be borne by either, if proof were possible. It isn’t, and those that claim it is are simply opinionated, just like other practitioners of faith-based ideologies.

That said, your retreat into agnosticism is duly noted. Atheism is NOT simple skepticism of others’ belief…

        • “atheists claim there ain’t“

“Atheism is NOT simple skepticism of others’ belief… “

Once again, conservatives try to redefine words to suit their narrative.

Brothers and sisters, let us turn now to Merriam-Webster for the actual definition of ‘atheist’:

          “atheist
          noun
          athe·ist ˈā-thē-ist
          Synonyms of atheist
: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods : one who subscribes to or advocates atheism“

          https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/atheist

“consider your false accusation to be defamatory”

Forgive me, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory…

Well, except for Donald Trump, who said he had done nothing to be forgiven for.

        • Lets see sincere disbelief of others faith with a lack of any true evidence with a belief structure, creation myth, and reasons of why we are here and what we are about………….yeah pretty much a religion just lacking a moral driving force.

        • MINOR Miner49er You bring up Meriam-Webster? A “dictionary” which has been taken over by Leftists to continue the propagation of your Leftist ideology? Sorry, I’ll sich with that fact that atheism as well as agnosticism are both in fact religions.

        • “I’m not sure what you mean…”

Yes, as I wrote, you make that obvious. It is “dividing” not “divining.” I see your straw man argument, and raise you a nugget of truth.

      • MajorLiar,

You just can’t pass on any opportunity to show your @$$, can you???

IF you knew f***-all about religion (which you don’t) you would know that there are NUMEROUS, and often inconsistent, philosophical positions on when life begins in most religions, INCLUDING Judaism. But, you’re too stupid to know that, so just shut the f*** up. Stop pulling doctrine (that you don’t understand) our of your @$$. I have yet to see you make a single statement, about ANY religion, that bore even a casual resemblance to actual doctrine of that religion.

It takes a special kind of stupid to keep coming back and proving your ignorance for all to see. The only safe prediction is that, if MajorLiar opens his idiot piehole to make a statement about religion, it will be wrong. Congratulations for proving me right, once again, you drooling @$$clown.

        • “you drooling @$$clown“

Your juvenile insults are not only indicative of your mental acuity, they are quite entertaining as well!

        • MINOR Miner49er, well, your comments are juvenile. Your mental acuity borders on non-existent.

        • MajorLiar,

“Your juvenile insults are not only indicative of your mental acuity . . . ”

Yet, somehow, they always manage to get under your skin.

And, @$$clown, saying that you have NEVER (at least on this site) made an even REMOTELY accurate statement regarding religious doctrine of any religion that I am familiar with – that’s not an insult, clown-boy, that is a verifiable statement of fact.

I would further suggest that telling you to go suck-start a shotgun is also not an insult, it is a sincere expression of my hopes and desires for your continued well-being (to the extent you ever had any, at least mentally). I would also certainly assert that referring to your as a lying liar who lies, and calling you an @$$clown, are also simple factual observations.

But you just continue being the lying liar of a lying partisan propagandist @$$hole, and I’ll continue to call you out for it. You have long-since abandoned any right to expect to be treated as a good-faith commenter – which is why I no longer even attempt to treat you as one.

But feel free to keep coming back, leading with your chin. My mole-whacking hammer has thousands more good shots left.

  9. If I cared what a stupid whore had to say I’d call my ex. At least she’s pro gun

      • minor49iq…He said he would call her. That doesn’t sound exactly like a restraining order is in effec…you silly drama queen.

      • divorced her in 1990. been happily married to my beautiful wife for 24 years now.
does my ex give you a discount out or pitty or the frequent buyer deal? because that’s the only way you get any is with cash

        • Well………yeah you haven’t noticed how the quality of his posts varies day to day (shift to shift?)

        • so you dont watch other posters on other platforms for similar names and try to ask confirming questions regarding firearms owned……….well that’s just lazy or dishonest.

        • “so you dont watch other posters on other platforms for similar names and try to ask confirming questions regarding firearms owned“

Wow, the paranoia and conspiracy thought runs deep on this forum.

Check my posts, I’ve never asked anybody any questions about what firearms they own.

And why ask, most on here readily volunteer what they have.

I don’t really spend much time on other forums, I enjoy my time here far too much to be distracted with some other loony bin… This one is so entertaining.

        • Haz, don’t forget lil’d as well.

But minor can expect a good cheque from Uncle George. He might be able to afford a Happy Meal from Maccers.

        • WOW, MINOR Miner49er, Speaking oa paranoia, seems you are extremely paranoid of people who own a firearm?

  10. Veep “Thoughts” from ole camel?? Thoughts? thats some funny stuff right thar. Dumber than a sack of rocks (or a steaming pile of lil’d).

Bill of Rights, Heller, Bruen – STFU bimbo

    • neiowa, it just occurred to me that the Bruen decision was the D-Day of 2A rights. Once it happened the tide of the war turned in WWII and now for 2A rights. It’s all over but the cryin’! Those liberal tears work great to lubricate my firearms.

      • Unfortunately, Texican, the Leftist/fascists like MajorLiar and dacian the demented are still pursuing their fever-dream of “packing” SCOTUS (currently trying to drum up an impeachment case for an imagined “violation of ethics” that is specifically exempted from the reporting requirements, like the lying s***weasels they are).

We certainly won this round, but if you think it will stop those idiot fascists, you are seriously deluded. Like Hitler’s Nazis, they’ll only stop when they are beaten into the ground,.

  11. Stand your ground based on Fear & Anger. What could go wrong?

A jury is too late for the dead.

    That’s the truth.

    And TTAGs coverage? Non-existent.

    The Truth Hurts

      • You don’t need to declare Stand Your Ground to exercise it, just like the 2nd Amendment. You just need a gun and Fear & Anger.

        • Where on the doll did justified self defense touch you that you cannot tell it from illegal use of force?

        • Like MajorLiar, you are a lying liar who lies. “Stand your ground” is IN FACT a very specific legal justification for a self-defense shooting, and MUST be positively asserted in defense to a claim that they engaged in an unjustified shooting. If you fail to assert “stand your ground”, you waive the defense.

So, like MajorLIar, you are a lying liar who lies. F*** right off, liar. Castle Doctrine, OTOH, is a somewhat related but quite different legal doctrine defining your rights to self-defense in certain locations (i.e., your home). Since you clearly know f***-all about legal theories and doctrines in re: the law of self-defense, perhaps you should just STFU, rather than continuing to make it obvious to all that you are an ignorant, lying @$$clown.

    • Progressives let (encouraged really) violent riots loot, assault, arson, and perform all manner of depredations until several looters got shot and even then they were either not covered or presented as mostly peaceful protests. Truth does indeed hurt and spare me your crying over a few dead victims you didn’t care for years about all the others until some potentially politically convenient ones washed up.

    • You can channel your hate and anger into being a good little lackey for Dacian’s Caravan of Death. You can administer righteous retribution on those class enemies in an act of collective punishment.

How many deaths will it take to sate that hate and anger? Thousands? Tens or hundreds of thousands? Millions? Never too few for your kind.

    • 4 Times in 1 Week. You are wasting your time. Stand your ground is about self defense and while fear may have something to do with it, it is based on a basic human right. The right to the sanctity of one’s own person. A jury is only convened when there is reason to believe a crime was committed.
Your crime is having no intestinal fortitude. Are you dacian the DUNDERHEAD, or MINOR Miner49er. Maybe Albert L J Hall?

  12. So you agree that considering the fetus to be “mere water” is ignorant, bearing at best a “faint resemblance to reality”?

Are there any other stages of life that are fair game for the “savage and violent?” In the name of religious freedom, and with appropriate support from the relevant scripture, of course.

    • In Vitro Fertilization is the kind of abortion the pro life people can’t get enough of.

Look it up. Hundreds of thousands of fetuses thrown out of frozen until irreparably damaged.

      Mere water, right?

    • Personally, I wish abortions didn’t happen.

But as long as conservatives are doing everything they can to prevent folks from obtaining contraceptives, I’ll oppose making abortions illegal.

How about masturbation, every sperm is sacred and has the potential to become a living breathing person.

Most males are guilty of the murder of millions of potential human persons by the time they reach adulthood, I’m sure everyone on this list has ‘spill their seed upon the ground’ and sinned before God, right…

      Repent now, ye mass murderers!

      • Sperm has to first fertilize an egg before we can even think about conception, so no worries about murder there. FWIW, I’m pro-birth control. I suspect lots of conservatives are.

        • And when a Conservative’s embryos are destroyed in the In Vitro Fertilization process it’s dignified.

But when an embryo is destroyed with a Morning After pill it’s an abortion.

Completely reasonable. Sometimes life begins at conception.

        • “Sometimes life begins at conception.”

No. It always begins at conception. I think most people are following medical advice or trends without thinking about bioethics. It’s more a matter of ignorance than being pro-life. We need to get the word out, and help people understand how biology works.

      • 8 Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.” 9 But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. 10 What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also. Genesis 38:8-10 NIV

5 If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husband’s brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her. 6 The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel. 7 However, if a man does not want to marry his brother’s wife, she shall go to the elders at the town gate and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to carry on his brother’s name in Israel. He will not fulfill the duty of a brothere-in-law to me.” 8 Then the elders of his town shall summon him and talk to him. If he persists in saying, “I do not want to marry her,” 9 his brothr’s widow shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, take off one of his sandals, spit in his face and say, “This is what is done to the man who will not build up his brother’s family line.” 10 That man’s line shall be known in Israel as The Family of the Unsandaled. Deuteronomy 25:5-10 NIV

Context matters, skippy. Try looking along instead of at.

        • Jesus himself spoke against masturbation in Matthew:

“A second passage from the Bible that is sometimes used to “prove” that masturbation is a sin is Matthew 5:27-30. Jesus is talking about avoiding lustful thoughts and then says, “If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.”

        • Sorry, I thought we were discussing your misinterpretation of the passage about Onan. We can deal with your other misinterpretations after we have settled this one. Onan’s sin was in refusing to fulfill his obligation to provide an heir for his brother. Do you not see that, or do you simply refuse to acknowledge your error?

        • “do you simply refuse to acknowledge your error?“

It’s not my error, the Christian church has used the story of Onan to justify their finding that masturbation was a sin, has been that way for hundreds of years:

“Onania, as the tract came to be known, sold like hotcakes. By the turn of the century, all of industrialized Europe and North America viewed masturbation as a sin with spiritual and physical ramifications. Intellectuals such as C.G Salzmann, Samuel Tissot, Johann Zimmermann, Immanuel Kant, and Sigmund Freud, among others, wrote of its dangers. The medical professionals assigned several ailments, including, but not limited to, Down’s syndrome and epilepsy as the result of masturbation.

And there seemed to be, in the marketplace, an insatiable demand for preventative devices. Erection alarms, penis cases, sleeping mitts, bed cradles to keep the sheets off the genitals, and hobbles to keep girls from spreading their legs were patented in the United States in this era.“

          https://atoday.org/is-masturbation-a-sin-the-curious-history-behind-a-long-held-religious-prohibition/

I think the whole story about God punishing Onan is just a religious fairytale, intended to manipulate the population into certain behaviors.

And this weird ‘masturbation is a sin bullshit has continued in mainstream Christianity even to this very day:

“Let’s be clear, masturbation is an act of instant, self-gratification. It is quite the opposite of self-control that we are constantly reminded of in the Bible. Self-control is an act of obedience to our Holy God and a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) an act that requires restraint, sober-mindedness, and devotion to God.”

          Y’all got some weird hangups…

        • Miner, you’re obsessed with putting down Christians. I’d call that a weird hangup. What you’re posting is opinions from two people anyway, not scripture.

        • MINOR Miner49er, See what I mean about your twisting words to fit your agenda? MAybe you should go back to masterbating. I would hate to see you reproduce.

      • MajorLiar,

“But as long as conservatives are doing everything they can to prevent folks from obtaining contraceptives, I’ll oppose making abortions illegal.”

Hmm . . . you mean those same Republicans that have been TRYING TO GET BIRTH CONTROL AVAILABLE OTC, and being blocked by the Dims, you lying @$$twat?????

I’ll happily loan your my shotgun, if you want to practice your suck-starting skills, you dishonest, despicable whore.

        • “Republicans that have been TRYING TO GET BIRTH CONTROL AVAILABLE OTC, and being blocked by the Dims“

Could you be a bit more specific about just who these Republicans are, do you mean these folks:

“This month, Idaho state Rep. Brent Crane, Republican chair of the powerful House State Affairs Committee, said he would hold hearings on legislation banning emergency contraceptives and possibly IUDs as well.

A Louisiana House committee earlier this month passed a bill saying that “human personhood” begins at the point of fertilization, an interpretation that critics say could potentially be used to outlaw Plan B drugs, IUDs and perhaps other forms of birth control.“

          https://www.pewtrusts.org/en/research-and-analysis/blogs/stateline/2022/05/19/some-states-already-are-targeting-birth-control

So who is the liar here?

        • MajorLiar,

“Who’s the liar here?” You, as always. Here is just one example of your lying lies that you lie about: H.R.5138 – Over-The-Counter Contraceptives Act of 2016, introduced by . . . Mia Love, a REPUBLICAN. Eventually killed by . . . Democrats. There are numerous others, you lying liar who lies.

        • Over-The-Counter Contraceptives Act of 2016, introduced by . . . Mia Love, a REPUBLICAN. Eventually killed by . . . Democrats.

That’s exactly what is going to happen to H.R. 734 (118) (keep biological MEN out of WOMENS sports) when it gets to the Senate (actually Chucky will probably not allow a vote on the floor) and Braindead said he would VETO it if it did get through… Yeah, a big old “fuck you women”, “the best woman for the job is a fucking incel male”: brought to you by your family friendly “follow the science” Democrat Party (it’s pretty sad when Democrat WOMEN vote against the protection of young WOMEN in sports)… Women are systematically being erased by a small group of radical kommies and if they don’t step up and replace these assholes they will be complicit in their own demise… Before you know it a full blown Burka will be the mandated dress of the day for any woman daring to venture outside, I for one hope I don’t live long enough to see that happen… “WAKE UP MERICUHH”

        • MINOR Miner49er, Simple, you are the liar. You have again twisted words to fit your losey agenda.

      • MINOR Miner49er, Personally you are a liar. You wish…? Each of us are responsible for the protection of the weakest in our society. An unborn child certainly qualifies.
How about “masterbation”? Well, let’s see, without the egg, the sperm is nothing but a part of the male body. Seems that when one “masterbates”, thousands of those little sperm are emitted. Are you proposing that each of those thousands of sperms is a “potential human being”? Nice try, but that mouthwash just doesn’t cut it.

    POLITIFACT
Fact-check: Are firearms the leading cause of death in children?
Jill Terreri Ramos, PolitiFact.com (but beware of the definitions of children and of the categories of children the survayers used, highlighted below)

Charles Schumer: “The leading cause of death among children is a firearm.”

    PolitiFact’s ruling: Mostly True

Here’s why: Are firearms the leading cause of death in children?

In a speech on the Senate floor, Majority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., recounted details of two recent mass shootings, one in a Buffalo supermarket and the other at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. He called on his colleagues to tighten the nation’s gun laws.

“America doesn’t stand out when it comes to the rate of mental illness, but we are unique among the world’s developed nations in that today the leading cause of death among children is no longer a car accident, is no longer illness or malnourishment. The leading cause of death among children is a firearm,” Schumer said.

Schumer is correct, depending on you define children, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and analyses from researchers at three academic centers.

More:Fact-check: Do ‘more people die from hands, fists, feet, than rifles’?

The CDC publishes data on the leading causes of death among different demographic groups, providing the most reliable data. In 2020, the leading cause of death among children ages one through 18 involved a firearm. There were 3,219 such deaths in 2020, followed by motor vehicle traffic deaths, of which there were 2,882.

In their report about gun violence, “A Year in Review: 2020 Gun Deaths in the U.S.,” researchers at the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions analyzed CDC data from 2020 and found that gun violence was the leading cause of death among children, teens, and young adults under age 25. Firearms were also the leading cause of death for children and teens ages 1 to 19, taking the lives of 4,357 young people, they wrote.

The report also found that gun violence claimed more lives in 2020, more than 45,000, than it had during any year on record.

Researchers at the Rockefeller Institute of Government, Leigh Wedenoja and Jaclyn Schildkraut, used CDC data, and found that if “children” are defined as people 19 and under, as they said the CDC tends to do, then firearm deaths exceed traffic deaths. Their analysis did not take into account infant-specific types of deaths, such as congenital abnormalities or short gestation.”

    • if “children” are defined as people 19 and under, as they said the CDC tends to do, then firearm deaths exceed traffic deaths. Their analysis did not take into account infant-specific types of deaths

“Mostly true” is propagandist speak for lies that I’m okay with.

    • PolitiFact’s ruling: Mostly True

Politifact wouldn’t know what was true if it was bit on the ass.

What Does CDC Data Show Is the Leading Cause of Death of Children—Excluding Legal Adults?

Excluding legal adults from the data set and including all minors—those under age 18—tells a strikingly different story. According to CDC’s “Underlying Cause of Death” sorted by “Injury Mechanism & All Other Leading Causes” the top three causes of death are:

      Certain conditions originating in the perinatal period;
Congenital malformations, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities; and
Symptoms, signs and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings.

      https://www.gunowners.org/guns-are-not-the-leading-cause-of-death-among-children-2/

  14. All you need is a gun, some type of property and Fear & Anger.

Private Property. Trespassers Will Be Shot On Site.

    Those signs ring any bells.

The Truth Hurts, except at TTAG. Ignorance is Bliss

    • You could try not trespassing there shill. Also unlike the rioters from the summer of love most of the people who do dumb illegal shit with guns on their own property tend to get arrested so opinion discarded and go try your influencing efforts elsewhere this is just sad.

      • Trespassing itself does not allow you to shoot the trespassers.

But you wouldn’t know that or care. Because you have a gun and Fear & Anger.

        The Truth Hurts

        • 4 in 1 Week, WRONG! Seems to me that if you are trespassing on someone else’s property, you are a threat to that person and the ownership of that property. Seems you think that people should be allowed to trespass at will with no deterrence? What about is that trespasser is armed with a knife or other weapon?

    • Just be more careful and stay off people’s property. Problem solved. ‘K. Miner69er??

    • And the 4th incident was done by a felon in illegal possession of a firearm and probably on recreational pharmaceuticals (is meth a fair bet?).

      • is meth a fair bet?).

Meth might be a recreational “pharmaceutical” in your world but here it’s just illegal dope with no recognized medicinal value what-so-ever… Much like “Crack Cocaine”…

    • 4 in 1 Week, Sounds like a personal problem. The moral of the story is if it’s private property, it behoves you to keep out? Don’t you think? Sounds to me like you are proposing that people be allowed to go wherever they damn well please?

      • “Sounds to me like you are proposing that people be allowed to go wherever they damn well please?“

That is not at all what he’s suggesting, and you know it.

His position is that the punishment for trespassing should not be summary execution by the property owner.

Of course, that is what you are advocating because you are one bloodthirsty old man who wants to express your fear of death and anger at a meaningless, unfulfilled life by making others feel the misery you live with every day.

        How sad.

        • your fear of death and anger at a meaningless, unfulfilled life by making others feel the misery you live with every day.

          Projecting again?

        • MINOR Miner49er. On the contrary, it is exactly what he is suggesting. Much to your chagrin, I am sure. “The penalty for trespassing should not be summary execution”? I agree. But how about self defense and protecting one’s property. I see you ignored my question about an armed intruder. Again, you ignore what you can’t answer.
          Pitiful!

    • Oh yeah, the exact wording of the Constitution.

So who are the real people and the obidens?

Care to speak the truth or are you chickenshi?

        • Commies can be citizens. So where did you pull this legal clause from? Your butt, right?

        • See screen name process some thinking and ponder at the replies. Dude you can’t even discern a casual troll and you are not doing well arguing him. You were attempting a typical race baiting comment and now have to try to redirect the conversation and fucked it up going after a joke argument.

        • Void, are dead wrong. I suspected that he was going to say something stupid that proved he has Fear & Anger toward some group of people. And he has a gun.

But instead you did it. So “commies” or “obidens” don’t have full rights, and you need a gun to protect yourself from them.

Oh, that’s not prejudiced, nor a dangerous attitude by someone ready to protect their property.

4 in 1 Week. Are your shooting for 5?

          The Truth Hurts

          God forbid someone

        • Well commies tend to either renounce citizenship and/or commit treason so yes they often do or should lack civil rights on account of their actions. Thanks for playing shill now go back to your supervisor and get a new name and script.

        • Oh and on your name it could be 50 in a week doesn’t matter criminals go to jail if their use of force was criminal. Will not change any persons opinion on basic civil rights.

        • Commies renounce citizenship? How many people do you think this covers?

By the way, most of the Constitutional Rights apply to people (like illegal aliens) not merely citizens, including the 2nd Amendment. This is just basic law 101 stuff.

So your “real people” comment proves you don’t actually support the 2nd Amendment.

        • Desperate to miss the forest for the trees. Commies are not real people but until they give up their rights we pretend they are legally. There feel better oh and still not giving up constitutional carry or stand your ground laws they are awesome.

        • Here’s some good news on at least one of the shootings:

“Robert Singletary, the suspect accused of shooting a 6-year-old neighbor and her parents in North Carolina after a basketball rolled into his yard, was apprehended and is in custody in Hillsborough County, Florida, according to Gaston County, North Carolina, spokesperson Adam J. Gaub.“

Of course, there’s always a chance that Ron DeSantis will pardon him.

        • 4 in 1 Week, It seems that the espousal of Communism is a “renouncing of citizenship.” You see the US is based on something e call the Constitution. Communism in fact is a renouncement of that sacred document. Are you confessing that you are a Communist?

      • Yeah, since the crime AND the trial will be held in NC I guess DeSantis COULD resign his office in Florida and just claim himself to be gov of NC in time to let the guy off OR maybe he’ll just take over the job of the NC AG and just decline to prosecute the guy like all of YOUR leftist prosecutors, bet that would be okay with you and uncle George… You ARE a fukking moron…

        • “DeSantis COULD resign his office in Florida”

No need for him to resign, the perp was arrested in Florida, DeSantis could just refuse to extradite and give him a pardon.

        • You really are a moron… DeSantis cannot give this asshole a pardon for something he did another state, and he will not attempt to block “extradition”… You REALLY need to get a firmer grasp on reality…

        • MINOR Miner49er, a governor can NOT issue a pardon for a crime committed in another state. Nice try, but your reasoning is as flawed as a rotten tomato.

        • No, he couldn’t, you moron. There is an active and valid arrest warrant for the perp in NC. DeSantis can certainly OPPOSE the petition for extradition (and if you think THAT’S likely, you’re even more stupid than I thought), but his “pardon” would have no impact on the pending warrant in NC. But, then, you know as little about law as you do about firearms, politics, science, religion . . . come to think of it, what is it you actually think you know about??? Because, at least on this forum, you’re batting a giant goose egg.

I am hard put to remember a single subject on which you were even in the same zip code as ‘correct’. You are the quintessential “progressive” – you know so much that isn’t so. You appear to be universally ignorant (quite the accomplishment, in its own way). Do you have hemorrhoids? If not, I’d have to say you’re a perfect asshole.

        • No need for him to resign, the perp was arrested in Florida,

You sound butthurt because this Black guy (with a history of violence) didn’t fit into YOUR favorite fantasy of a crazed AR15 wielding, white supremacist, republican, nut job… Too bad so saadddd…

      • 4 in 1 Week, It seems the real chickenshi is you. No my Leftist adversary, the 2nd Amendment does NOT cover illegal aliens. You see they criminals. It has been well accepted by the Supreme Court that criminals can be prohibited from purchasing or owning a firearm. Nice trxy, but that train left the station years ago.

        • “No my Leftist adversary, the 2nd Amendment does NOT cover illegal aliens“

Perhaps you might be interested in the Federal Code regarding this subject:

PART I—ORGANIZATION AND GENERAL MILITARY POWERS
          CHAPTER 12—THE MILITIA
          Sec.
          246.Militia: composition and classes.

          §246. Militia: composition and classes
          (a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States“

Those who come to America seeking asylum are very specifically given the same rights granted to militia members who are already citizens:

“who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens“

          https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?path=/prelim@title10/subtitleA/part1/chapter12&edition=prelim

I hope that clears up your confusion, always glad to help!

        • Those who come to America seeking asylum are very specifically given the same rights granted to militia members who are already citizens:

So now you acknowledge that the citizens ARE the militia? You’ve got to pick a battle and stick with it, although you destroyed your credibility years ago… You are however a constant source of entertainment and amusement keep up the good(?) work…

        • “So now you acknowledge that the citizens ARE the militia?”

Not just the ‘citizens’ but the whole of the ‘people’ are the militia.

I have never doubted that concept, and I have posted the militia act here many times before.

I must say, I’m glad you agree that “the citizens ARE the militia”, now you understand why the ‘well-regulated’ language applies directly to the people (militia) bearing arms, following the 1828 Miriam Webster definition of ‘regulated’, ‘being subject to rule or restriction’.

Look that up in your funk and Wagnalls

        • “Well-regulated Militia” and the “right to bear arms” are two separate parts of the same sentence… (One) a well-regulated militia being (i.e., IS) necessary to the security of a free State (COMMA: a punctuation mark that separates words, clauses, or IDEAS within a sentence.) (Two) the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Part one does indicate that a trained militia is necessary for the security of the citizenry, however part two is a complete and separate thought (idea) acknowledging the RIGHTS of the people to keep AND carry whatever weapon (aka arms) they feel necessary to maintain their safety AND that right CANNOT be “infringed” (REGULATED) by ANY entity of higher authority (Constitutional Carry)… Seems rather simple and unless you have the original document or a direct copy of that original document that OMITS that pesky little punctuation mark OR you dispute the definition of that “comma” (something that “WAS” taught in like 3rd or 4th grade grammar) then this discussion is over…

The way YOU read and define that sentence puts the first part “well-regulated” in direct conflict with part two “shall NOT be infringed” (i.e., NOT regulated) and makes absolutely no sense… Pretty sure the Founders were smarter than THAT… Maybe YOU should do a deeper dive into that “funk and Wagnalls” whatever that is…

        • MINOR Miner49er, Here is a RED HOT NEWS FLASH! Illegal aliens are not eligible for citizenship, dummy. You see an illegal alien is a criminal under Federal Law.

  15. obidens want “safety” then do not approach or touch others or their property without permission

  16. Oh man, this is too good to pass up.

“My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell, an ally of former President Trump who has aggressively pushed baseless 2020 election denial theories, has been ordered to pay $5 million to a software developer who debunked Lindell’s data about the election.
Lindell, who promised to pay the $5 million award to anyone who could debunk his data that purportedly proved election fraud, was ordered to pay the sum by a private arbitrator, who ruled that Robert Zeidman, a software expert, successfully disproved Lindell’s claims, in a decision first reported by CNN.“

    Incompetent traitorous piece of shit.

      • Oh no, you got taken in by the grift too!

I’m so sorry for you, surely it was obvious that Trump, Sidney Powell, Giuliani and this joker Mike Pillow were just yanking your chain for profit.

Fox is paying dominion over 3/4 of $1 billion for their bullshit lies, and yet you folks still support these seditious conspirators in their failed coup.

Do you think if there was any credibility to the ‘big steal’ bullshit that Rupert Murdoch would be paying $787 million to the voting machine company?

And there’s more suits coming, smartMatic has a $2.6 billion suit against Fox, reckon how that will go?

And now Mike Lindell has to pony up $5 million to cover his bullshit stories as well, a cherry on top.

        • MajorLiar,

Don’t be hatin’ on Mike Lindell; the rumor is that is your favorite pillow to bite.

        • MINOR Miner49er, Here is a RED HOT NEWS FLASH! Illegal aliens are not eligible for citizenship, dummy. You see an illegal alien is a criminal under Federal Law.

    • Decided in arbitration…………why do I get the feeling you are not representing this accurately.

      • Of course, you can deny reality like most conservatives, but the planet will continue to rotate around it’s axis.

        “April 20, 2023, 3:07 PM EDT
        By Dareh Gregorian
Mike Lindell has to pay $5 million for losing his “Prove Mike Wrong” 2020 election challenge, an arbitration panel has ruled.

In a decision dated Wednesday, the panel found software developer Robert Zeidman had won Lindell’s 2021 contest challenging experts to prove that data he had was not from the 2020 election, and directed the MyPillow founder to pay him the reward money he’d promised in the next 30 days.“

        • “k let me know when a relevant trial with discovery goes forward“

It already went to court, they agreed on binding arbitration, and the arbitration panel found for the plaintiff.

And the best part for me, a West Virginia law firm represented the plaintiff, go hillbillies!

“Based on the foregoing analysis, Mr. Zeidman performed under the contract,” the arbitration panel wrote in its decision. “He proved the data Lindell LLC provided, and represented reflected information from the November 2020 election, unequivocally did not reflect November 2020 election data. Failure to pay Mr. Zeidman the $5 million prized was a breach of the contract, entitling him to recover.”

The decision marks yet another blow to the MyPillow CEO’s credibility after he publicly touted unproven claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Lindell has also faced defamation suits related to his election claims.

“The lawsuit and verdict mark another important moment in the ongoing proof that the 2020 election was legal and valid, and the role of cybersecurity in ensuring that integrity,” said Brian Glasser, founder of Bailey & Glasser, LLP, who represented Zeidman. “Lindell’s claim to have 2020 election data has been definitively disproved.”

        • It’s over, that’s the meaning of ‘binding arbitration’.

Here’s the press release from the West Virginia law firm that spanked Mike Lindell:

Bailey & Glasser, LLP Secures $5 million Victory Over MyPillow Founder Mike Lindell’s False Claims About 2020 Election Fraud

Brian Glasser and Cary Joshi of Bailey & Glasser, LLP represented Mr. Zeidman in this matter. • That doesn’t look like dominion there bud so no not over. Oddly I kinda hope you are right as that would be a less horriffic event than the vote count being irrelevant but we will see if it gets to discovery.

      • “Mike Lindell, the MyPillow Inc. chief executive known for spreading false claims of election fraud, dared someone to disprove the validity of his data alleging Chinese interference in the 2020 election. Turns out, one man did.

        All bullshit, you’ve been had.

Let’s reject your false pleadings and lies for your “reasonable gun safety laws” especially with your parties and Bidens and your stated and agenda goal of confiscating fire arms and imprisoning fire arms owners by force and without warrant or cause and doing away with the second, fourth, and first amendments.

  18. its amazing that you think less than 1% is all of “your people”.

you obviously haven’t heard of that new thing called ‘math’, like the rest of the left wing you are assisting in bringing about a tyranny.

  19. let’s forget the false choice of who we got for president
What would be fun is to have theses people sit down and rewrite the Constitution just to see what their ideas would be.

    • The Constitution wouldn’t matter because they’ve already told us they would:

-Allow the Puppet to nominate four SC Justices.
-Make DC (reliably votes 90%+ Dem) a state.
-Allow the federal government to oversee elections.

We can’t rely on a document to save us.

  20. continuing to block miner’s bullshit comments, they re-surface…like turds that can’t be wiped off

      • MajorLiar,

        “The Truth will out . . . ”

But never from you or dacian the demented. As the man said, “The Scum Also Rises”. You keep showing up and peddling your lies here, no matter how often we mock and belittle your idiocy. I’m slightly impressed you manage to be so consistently a drooling idiot . . . sheer Law of Large Numbers would suggest you might occasionally, accidentally, get something right, but it hasn’t happened, yet.

        • The truth stands on it’s own and welcomes debate, how often does that apply to the contrived and/or isolated incidents you use? It’s more a pattern of behavior where you ironically make it easier to discern the truth by misrepresentation of events and telling us what to be sceptical about through what you insist is important or true.

        • MINOR Miner49er, how about all of your posts are lies. Lies include twisting the truth to fit your agenda.

      • MINOR Miner49er, you would not know the truth it it could smack you in the puss.

  21. lol
    shes so bad
that she was disliked by so many democrats
that she didnt get a single delegate in the primary

    shes so bad
they put her on the ticket as impeachment insurance
    for joe biden

    democrat insiders said:
    joe biden is so corrupt
    and as a result
runs enough of a risk of getting impeached
that we need to put somebody as #2 on the ticket
thats in fact so horrifically bad
that the republicans would NEVER impeach him
