Video: Making a Modular Silencer

When I was strolling the aisles at IWA, I ran into quite a few companies manufacturing modular silencers — cans for which you could expand or reduce the length and effectiveness depending on what you wanted to do that day. It’s a nifty concept, and while I don’t see it being available in the US anytime soon, it’s still nifty to see how these things are made. Idar from Sonic Silencers sent me this video showing the whole process from start to finish — take a look!

  1. Cool, Foghorn! Looking forward to your breakdown of the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator.

😀 Seriously! Will you do it? PLEASE? I think you’re up to the task.

If you refuse, I’ll have to do it.

    • Nah, that would be mean and you guys have been good to me.

So I won’t go mocking you, you have at least sane laws regarding shotguns.

      • Call me a nerd, but that was an awesome display of craftsmanship! Kinda reminded me of some kind named Jerry who handles his weapon with the same precision as the mason.

      • Enjoyed that, and wish I had the same level of skill.. Reminds me of an old Irishman and his two sons who came to my apartment in San Francisco to hand plaster a ceiling after an earthquake. the old man did all the plastering, and it was this level of craftsmanship that was displayed. The job was perfect.
