White House spokesperson Jen Psaki should know by now that speaking the truth is much easier than spinning a yarn. Yet, this White House can’t seem to bring themselves to admit crime is a problem.

For the Biden administration, it’s always the gun. Not the criminal illegally wielding a gun.

Psaki made the stunning admission that the Biden administration doesn’t feel crime is a pressing issue The White House has to address. Unless, of course, it comes to blaming the firearm industry and law-abiding gun owners.

No Laughing Matter

Psaki spoke to former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett, a co-host of the podcast “Pod Save America,” when she attempted to gaslight America on crime concerns by noting mainstream media reporting was focused on the looming Ukraine-Russia crisis, but Fox News was reporting on the administration’s soft-on-crime policies.

“And then on FOX is Jeanine Pirro, talking about soft on crime consequences,” Psaki said according to a RealClear Politics report. “What does that even mean? So there’s an alternate universe on some coverage. What’s scary about it is a lot of people watch that and they think that the president isn’t doing anything to address people’s safety in New York and that couldn’t be further from the truth or other places.”

Psaki doubled down in a press conference when confronted with her flippant remarks about crime. She said President Joe Biden proposed increasing funding for police, calling those “uncomfortable facts” for the president’s detractors. She added, “… that gun crime is a major driver of crime across the country, also a fact.”

Face Facts

Hold on. Psaki didn’t say that criminals were an issue. She said guns were causing the crime. This is a long-standing effort on behalf of the administration and their gun control cabal to paint with a broad brush all gun owners as the same as criminals and ignoring the administration’s refusal to address crime.

Psaki is ignoring that President Biden previously voiced support for eliminating cash bail, which turns criminals back out on to the streets. Vice President Kamala Harris tweeted support and encouraged people to donate for bail money “protestors” to get out of jail during the riots and looting in the summer of 2020.

Kamala Harris Minnesota Bail Fund Tweet

U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) called attention to the bail fund plea, which raised over $35 million. The Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF), which Vice President Harris promoted, paid $75,000 in bail for Jaleel Stallings, who was charged with attempted murder after shooting at police, according to a fact check by The Washington Post.

Local Minnesota television reported the MFF bailed out multiple people charged with violent crimes, including posting $100,000 for a woman accused of killing a friend and $350,000 for a twice-convicted rapist charged with kidnapping, assault and sexual assault in two separate cases.

Another man, Lionel Timms, who was bailed out with MFF money after an assault charge, was later re-arrested for third-degree assault, leaving his victim with a traumatic brain injury and a fractured skull.

Just weeks ago, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) lambasted the Biden administration’s proposed executive order that would, “limit law enforcement access to nonlethal and lifesaving resources, and impose greater restrictions on federal grant dollars.”

Time and again, the country is witnessing a duplicitous approach to crime by The White House. On one hand, they claim to be taking crime seriously, but the actions by officials within the administration minimize criminal action and reduce support for law enforcement. The only blame they are quick to assign, though, is on guns.

Law-Abiding vs. Criminal

CNN attempted to make the connection between increased lawful gun ownership and crime, but their own experts, even those within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said that connection isn’t true. Adam Winkler, a professor at UCLA School of Law who specializes in constitutional law and gun policy stated the obvious.

“We shouldn’t necessarily expect a tight connection between the number of background checks and the number of guns that are found at crime scenes,” Winkler told CNN. “Many criminals do not buy their guns at gun stores.”

In this image released by the New York Police Dept., a stolen gun is seen found at the site of a police shooting Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in New York, New York. (NYPD via AP Photo)

Thomas Chittum, acting deputy director at the ATF, told CNN in the same report that the “vast majority” of lawfully purchased firearms won’t ever be used in a crime. The ATF’s own Trace Data, which tracks “time-to-crime” from when a firearm is purchased to when it is discovered at a crime scene is still seven years. Bureau of Justice Statistics surveys have shown criminals don’t buy their firearms legally. Over 90 percent obtain them through other means like theft or the black market.

The firearm industry wants criminals locked up. That includes criminals who misuse firearms to prey on the most vulnerable in our society. That requires a focus on enforcing criminal laws on criminals. Pretending crime isn’t a problem doesn’t solve the problem. Blaming guns and law-abiding gun owners for the criminal misdeeds of others doesn’t stop crime.

Naming the problem is the first step in stopping the problem. The problem is, and always has been, crime. If the press secretary wants to know what the consequences of soft-on-crime looks like, I suggest she step out of the protection of the Secret Service at The White House and witness what’s happening across America.

  1. Politicians as a group are not all that bright and tend to forget the lessons we teach them every few years; this is especially true of Democrat politicians and their lackeys. We are coming up on a special day to reinforce the lesson they should have learned in 1994. I have a feeling this lesson will take them longer to forget, since we are likely to be able to extract some real push back on rights they and their swamp buddies in ATF have been infringing for a very long time now.

“Politicians as a group are not all that bright and tend to forget the lessons we teach them every few years; this is especially true of Democrat politicians and their lackeys.”

Proof of that is what got Regan elected in the 1988 presidential election, a fine upstanding citizen named Willie Horton, who, while out on a Massachusetts ‘weekend furlough’ program, didn’t bother to return to his comfy prison cell.

Regan latched on to that like a pit bull terrier on a pork chop, and it was instrumental in defeating Michael Dukakis (who managed to come across as clueless in his political ads as my brain-damaged mentally-ill demented troll here in TTAG).

Here’s the ad many believe was responsible for getting George Bush 1 elected president :

    • Between inflation, Presidential incompetence, redistricting, rising crime, and 1st midterm election, the Dems are going to get wiped out. They might as well try to pass as many stupid ideological laws as they can since there’s little blowback for not representing the wishes of their constituents. Those in deep blue districts will get reelected even if caught on camera eating babies and being racist, and the press will try to cover for them. Those in competitive races have already lost.

  2. Man, does that dead-eyed Raggedy-Ann doll of a press secretary give me the creeps. The most effective approach to crime the Biden administration could possibly take would be to turn themselves in for prosecution.

If there’s anyone who knows hard-hitting, its this fuckwit who spends all day furiously jerking it in his mom’s basement.

Son, that isn’t gonna make it grow… 😉

Look at what others say about you :

        Ha, ha!

The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels

No, that view is far too soothing and nice for their ilk.

  3. Of course Raggedy Ann Psaki is spinning a yarn. Her hair is made of orange yarn.
The only thing nice that I can day about this Raggedy Ann is that she does have a decent cleavage.

    • Stop drooling over something you will never see up close and personal. You are sounding loike Sleepy Joe. You know the one who bloes into women’s hair, and touches them in appropriately. If its “gross” for him, its gross for you.

  4. For those who hope significant data will stop the fear-mongering by anti-gunners, those who are looking for data to shut down the lies of the media and anti-gunners, the link below will take you to the DOJ national crime victimization survey for 2020 (coverning 2019). data for the 2021 report are not finalized (but will cover 2020) when released.
    https://bjs.ojp.gov/data-collection/ncvs

Summary: 4.55million rapes, robberies, aggravated assaults. 21,570 murders (13,620 involving firearms). You can do the calc to determine the percentage of the population directly affected.

The report also shows that overall violent crime rose 5% for the covered period, while the gross number of crimes involving guns fell 27%.

According to the White House, the 13,620 murders involving firearms are the leading factor in the observed nationwide increase in crime in the US.

Now, for the really important stuff, news you can use….

Print out the data points in this comment, put in your pocket, and for $2.82 and this printed comment you can get a cup of coffee at iHOP.

“For those who hope significant data will stop the fear-mongering by anti-gunners, those who are looking for data to shut down the lies of the media and anti-gunners,…”

Data isn’t gonna do it, story-telling will. That’s one edge the Leftist Scum have on us, manipulating human emotions with a good story.

That’s why what is needed is story-telling of our own, like the 1988 Willie Horton ad campaign.

Show in shocking detail the consequences of soft-on-crime policy, the rapes, the murders, the true horrors that await a society who insists on not locking dangerous people away…

  5. Puh-saki is the perfect Dim spokesgal. I marvel at her spinability(did I just coin a word???). She earns every piece of silver she gets…

  6. Nope not possible that crimes involving guns fell 27%. We set records for firearm sales and more guns equal more gun crime. MOMS, The Trace and the rest of the gun safety people tell us more guns means more gun crime. They wouldn’t lie to us Sam. Even Mr Science, Dr Fauci tells us guns are bad. Follow the science, Sam. Don’t believe the numbers from the BJS, they must be Trumpers to lie like that. Are you a Trumper, Sam? You should be banned for spreading BJS misinformation. I am calling the manager right now!

  7. Comrade Gin Saki has embraced the leftist, “a lie told often enough becomes the truth,” doctrine. Somewhere quite warm, Goebbels and Alinsky are high-fiving each other.

  8. She is nothing more than an overpaid mouthpiece for the democRat Party whose job is flapping her lips to protect Jim Crow Gun Control scumbag joe.

  9. The trolls are making the comment section here suck. Too bad, used to be fun to check out everyone’s opinion after reading the articles. Now it’s whole pages of Dacian’s rants (if I wanted anti 2A talking points I can turn on MSM “news”) and that weird guy that’s stalks people. Bummer. I guess I should go and spam some gun control blog but I doubt there are any that allow comments.

  10. Anyone ese remeber tne ‘incident” mayve fove or seven years back, when the kinyun had usurped the People’s Mansion alongside the former mosquito swamp of the Potomac…… the “incident” imvlved a federal law enforcement agent of some variety who had parked his government issued car in San Francisco. He claims otherwise, but since NO damage whatever was done to said government car, he cannot have actually LOCKED said government car. He had left hs government issued duty gun, a semiautomatic handgun, loaded, with full mgazine, on the back seat. Or maybe the floorboards, Big difference. Not. Said governemnt poohbah returned to said government vehicle, got in and drove away. Later he wondered “wherever did my government issue duty handgun get off to?” A day or so later there was a different ‘incident” took place on a pier near Fisherman’sWharf in San Francisco. A woman was walking along that pier and ws shot dead, one round. Some folks nerby ideentified an individual as the one holding the firearm that had discharged the one round. He was accosted, coppers came and took him away, along with the handgun he used. It was the SAME GUN stolen from the govenment poohbah’s government car. The individual who had fired the round claimed “I found it under a bench over there on the pier” He claimed to be “just looking at it” when “it sent off”. No “ordinary he” was he. In fact he was a foreigh national, illegally having entered the US.. having been deported multiple times in the past, and having also been involved in the commission of a few felony crmes Readers will recall that San Francisco, even back then was a “sanctuary city”, thus provinding shelter and cover for such dirtbags.
It is a violation o fCalifr=ornia law to leave a firearm in a vehicle unattended when the veicle is not locked, and/or the firearmis visible from the outside. Fail One. order jumper here gain, fail two. He was cleary a “prohibited person” inlawful for him to even touch a firearm, as he is foreign anitonal, not resident, illegelly present here, did NOT have the California Mother May I Card to possess handgun in public, loaded,, negligent handling of a loaded weapon causing injury/death, did not get background check for the “transfer’ of that firearm into his possession, reckless endangerment for aimong a loaded firearm at an innocent human targed, and discharge of a firearm in the city, not to meniton negligent homicide.

Look t the long list of violations leading do thos innocent woman’s death. ALL those fine laws, designed to prevent “gun crime” failed utterly. She is dead. NOT ONE of those many laws worked. Oh, one more.. that model of handgun was NOT on California’s infinitely wise list of “acceptable handguns” for the peons in that sad state to own. One more violation, a gun prohibition law that FAILED.

Force Psaki and Unka Joey to sit and listen as this narrative is repeated in their hearing, then ask WHAT HAPPENED? HOW could all those fine laws, federal, state, and city/county, possbily have NOT prevented this woman’s death?

Because such laws never DO prevent anyne’s death. Just think… ir our illustrious government poohbah had left the keys inside that government vehicle, our foreign naitonal could easily have taken it for a ride, and killed a few folks along the way. NONE of the laws regarding vehicle possession or use would have prevented his stealing the car and killing innocents with it. Would that be the CAR’s fault? Of course not, that’s morally corrupt to assert that.

    • “Would that be the CAR’s fault?”
We already passed this milestone, Tio. Search for “ford escape parade” and you’ll find a long list of media stories that mention the driver only as an afterthought.

  11. Well it still works.
    My phone that is.
For some reason my cat jumped in my lap as I was looking at psakis picture and pissed on my phone.
Damn you Tommycat, now you quit that. Go chase the neighbors dog or something, I think it’s a democrat, it leaves a pile of evidence in the yard every morning.

  12. There has never been a recorded case where a written law prevented a criminal from thinking about committing a crime. Gun laws enforced against law abiding gun owning citizens do not prevent that either.

There has never been a recorded case where an in progress crime was stopped by a written law prohibiting such crime. Gun laws enforced against law abiding gun owning citizens do not prevent that either.

There has never been a recorded case where a physically violent person in the act of physically harming a victim stopped physically harming a victim because a written law prohibited committing that violence. Gun laws enforced against law abiding gun owning citizens do not prevent that either.

There has never been a recorded case where confiscation of a gun, or restriction or infringement of a constitutional right, stopped societies criminal element from continuing to prey on society. Gun laws enforced against law abiding gun owning citizens do not prevent that either.

There has never been a recorded case where the gun-control industry stopped an in progress crime.

But there are ~8,000 cases daily in the U.S. where a law abiding gun carrying/possessing person stopped an in progress crime or prevented a crime, and sometimes stopped or prevented mass shootings. Annually in the U.S., there are over 2 million lives directly saved from serious harm or death annually and another over 1 million home invasions directly stopped, successfully, by law abiding gun carrying/owning citizens from in progress criminal activity. Then there are even more lives indirectly saved if we consider the number of lives impacted by the ability of the criminal to continue committing crime if not stopped by those law abiding gun carrying/owning citizens. I can not find a single recorded case where the gun-control industry or government or any written law came swooping in to stop any of those in progress criminal acts where a law abiding gun carrying/owning citizen was forced to be their own first responder to stop that threat. (note: there have been many mass shootings stopped or prevented, and thus lives saved, by law abiding gun carrying/owning citizens.)

I can find a lot of cases where members of the gun-control lobby and government politicians can afford to pay for heavy duty police or military trained gun-armed security and body guards, or are carrying a firearm their self, to protect them while they want to take away the ability for law abiding gun carrying/owning citizens to protect themselves.

I can find a lot of cases where a violent criminal that stayed locked up behind bars didn’t commit any more of their crimes. That’s because when the predator is denied access to the prey they can’t harm the prey. But for some reason the democrats think its a good idea to let the predator continue to have access to the prey.

    • I also looked and researched and can not find a single case where “bail reform” or bailing out people charged with violent crimes or de-funding police has ever stopped an in progress crime. But I can find many cases where these have allowed and facilitated in-progress crime to happen.

I have looked and researched and can find cases where our Vice President Kamala Harris has facilitated in progress crime, but can not find a single case of an in progress crime that she has stopped in any manner.

I have looked and researched and can not find a single case where any politician (or body of politicians) (no matter the party) serving in office has endorsed or enacted any law, policy, or leadership, that stopped an in-progress crime. Even if police arrive and stop the crime, the fact that the crime was happening means it was still in progress when the police arrived so really even police don’t stop in progress crime until after they arrive which leaves the victim to be their own first responder.

I have looked and researched and can not find a single instance of an in progress crime being stopped in any country on earth due to any gun-control, or government, or law, or absence of guns.

There have been several times in my life i’ve been forced into defensive gun use by criminals, no other choice. There was not a single politician, or any members of the gun-control industry, or government, or written law, or a policy, or the police which were there to stop that in progress crime when the threat became imminent. Without the ability for defensive gun use with the firearm I chose to use I and my wife, and probably others, would not be alive today. One case in particular demanded more than one ‘large capacity’ (15 round) magazine, and a semi-auto handgun, and without that ‘large capacity’ magazine and semi-auto capability its a pretty sure thing that my wife would have been raped and killed and I would have been killed.

They can take their gun control along with its false supporting narrative and shove it.

    • Clarification for the above posts: Politicians, laws, policy, leadership which supports and promotes legal unrestricted exercise of 2A rights can or do stop in-progress crimes when defensive gun use is employed.

  13. Where are the task forces on Car crime? Dont those dagum cars murder more people on their own than guns?

Task force for Sporks – save the obese – More deaths than those killer guns.

Appears you are soft on crime as these other inanimate objects are murdering more Americans than those pesky guns.

  14. She will blow off anything said here and just called it ultra-right-wing gun nuts playing politics. There will never be anything said here that will make her THINK about any of this stuff in any real way. It wont matter and will just get ignored or laughed off.

  15. Where is dacian the stupid, or MinorIQ, to tell us that it’s actually all the Republicans and “Right wingers” who are REALLY “soft on crime”??? I can’t believe they’d miss the opportunity to display their partisan ignorance.

So far, their lack of “commentary” has made this a pretty reasonable discussion. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll grace us with their absence.

  16. So called “Gun crimes” don’t even register compared to deaths attributed to Cell phone distraction. Literally hundreds killed and injured by distracted driving collisions every day. This makes cellular phones much more dangerous than Firearms. Because facts matter. Anything coming out of Psaki’s Pie hole is either a direct lie or an intentional distortion of facts. Just think 3 more years of this.

  17. I’m unsure why the author would include Jaleel Stallings in the article as an example of some criminal that was bailed out by means of the funds K.Harris promoted. I find it rather pathetic, thats the best example the author could find and use to discount the “abuse” of those funds. Google Jaleel Stallings and you’ll find the actual truth.

  18. I know I’m a day late and a dollar short but every time I see her I wonder “what would Dirk do”?

  19. This nation does not have a firearms problem, it has a criminal problem. In particular in those areas controlled by members of the Democrat Crime Organization. And yes it is a massive criminal organization posing as a political party. Everything they do is to increase their personal wealth, build their power base and buy the votes of their constituency. Their constituency is comprised of professional criminals, like themselves, professional victims, losers, social leeches, and anyone with their hands out wanting something for nothing. What prevents crime??? Not gun control, it only emboldens criminals, is illegal, and puts honest citizens at risk. A hard stance on crime and an armed citizenry are the best deterrents to crime. As Jefferson said, “An armed society is a polite society.”

  20. Someone has lost their senile grandfather.
A hazard to himself and others.
His wife should pick him up and put him in the basement again, this time please lock the door and bring food and water, it has to have a shower since he was in the basement for long period of time when he was running for President.

Someone else can executive order to finish the wall. Restore oil drillers. There’s no such thing as Green energy!
I do have a Citizen watch that recharged with light. It’s watch size!
Someone please let our president go back to basement, he was happy there

  21. Voters as a group are not all that bright and tend to forget the lessons politicians teach them every few days; this is especially true of Democrat voters…
Republican voters tend to forget that the RINOs they voted for said the right things but instead cooperated with the Democrat leadership.
Certain Republicans, still in office, were caught having accepted bribes from the Chinese “Communists.” Nothing. Blame Trump.
